Communications Manager

Reed is recruiting on behalf of an established media company based in Halifax, our client is looking for a Communications Manger to join their team on a permanent basis.
This role is pivotal in developing and delivering effective internal and external communications that enhance their brands reputation, increase engagement, and support strategic business objectives. Day-to-day of the role:
External Communications & PR:
• Develop and implement external communication strategies to strengthen brand awareness and reputation
• Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media statements, and company announcements
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media contacts, and industry publications
• Manage both proactive PR opportunities and reactive communications as needed.
• Monitor media coverage, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders
Social Media & Community Management:
• Lead content creation and publishing across multiple social media channels
• Manage social media calendars to maintain a consistent and engaging brand presence
• Monitor online activity, engage with audiences, and respond to comments appropriately
• Analyse engagement metrics to optimise future content
• Produce newsletters, articles, and communication materials for various audiences
• Create internal updates to keep employees informed and aligned with company goals
• Support different teams with communication planning and messaging
• Develop and manage the company awards strategy, including writing award submissions
• Support reputation management through proactive storytelling and consistent messaging
• Build strong relationships across all levels of the business
• Advise on communication best practices and gather feedback to improve effectiveness
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications
• Exceptional written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
• Analytical skills to use data and feedback for improving communication strategies
• Desirable: Experience with social media management, writing award submissions, and working in a fast-paced commercial environment
