Consultant Acute and Respiratory Medicine

On appointment, the candidate will have a formal job plan meeting with the clinical director when the candidate will have the opportunity to make changes to the time-table to suit the candidates needs. During acute medicine, all other clinical commitments are cancelled. Respiratory ward commitments never overlap with acute medicine commitments. Where job sessions are on different locations on the same day, transport is provided and the time to travel included in the job plan. Respiratory clinics are allocated 30 minutes per slot and follow ups 15 minutes per slot. A typical clinic includes 5 new cases and 2 follow ups, but this will vary with demand on the service. These slots may be used flexibly for new or follow up patients as needed.
