Qualifications
• Full GMC Registration (with licence to practice)
• CCT in Gastroenterology and General Medicine (or equivalent)
• CCT (must be within 6 months of interview),
• MRCP
• Entry on Specialist Register either with CESR or European Community Rights
Clinical Experience
• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of Hepatology, Gastroenterology and GIM patients.
• Sub-specialty experience in Hepatology and broad experience in Gastroenterology
• Expert Endoscopist
• Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems both emergency and elective
• Willing and able to work to guidelines and group discussions
Management and Administrative Experience
• Ability to organise and manage priorities
• Active interest in IT
• Experience in audit and management in Gastroenterology
• Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of the department
• Ability to demonstrate willingness to manage and lead clinical teams
• Flexible approach
• Ability to demonstrate leadership capability within multidisciplinary teams
Teaching / Research Experience
• Proven ability to teach clinical and procedural skills
• Ability to apply research outcome to clinical problems
• Willingness and ability to contribute to departmental and Trust teaching Programme
• Evidence of medical student teaching / supervision experience
• Desire to continue to audit practice
Communication and Personal Skills
• Caring attitude to patients
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Honesty and reliability
• Willingness to work flexibly according to the needs of the service, observing national, organisational and departmental guidelines
