About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial professional to join a large, complex organisation delivering essential services across a regulated environment. This role sits at the heart of procurement and commercial strategy, with a particular focus on developing and shaping contract frameworks that enable efficient, compliant, and value-driven supplier delivery.
You’ll play a key role in supporting major procurement activities, ensuring that contractual structures and frameworks are fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned to long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and enhancement of contract frameworks to support large-scale procurement programmes
• Support end-to-end procurement activity by ensuring appropriate contract structures, terms, and risk positions are embedded from the outset
• Design and implement framework agreements and contracting strategies that drive consistency, efficiency, and commercial value
• Work closely with procurement teams to shape sourcing approaches, evaluation models, and supplier engagement strategies
• Provide commercial and contractual input into tender documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment with organisational requirements
• Establish standardised contract templates and framework mechanisms that can be deployed across multiple projects or workstreams
• Review and refine existing procurement and contract processes to improve governance, compliance, and delivery outcomes
• Collaborate with operational and technical teams to ensure frameworks reflect real delivery requirements and performance expectations
• Identify commercial risks within procurement exercises and develop balanced, practical mitigation strategies
About You
• Strong experience working within procurement, contract development, or commercial management environments
• Proven track record of supporting or leading framework-based procurement approaches
• Solid understanding of structured procurement processes and contracting principles (e.g. NEC, JCT or similar)
• Experience translating procurement strategies into effective contractual arrangements
• Confident engaging with a range of stakeholders, including procurement professionals, technical teams, and suppliers
• Commercially astute with a detailed, methodical approach to contract development
• Able to balance risk, value, and operational practicality within procurement-led environments
