A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary to join a very busy, long-established firm of Solicitors. This is an exciting chance to become an integral part of a thriving Conveyancing team, providing proactive support in a fast-paced environment.
The RoleYou will assist Fee Earners with all aspects of residential conveyancing, ensuring the smooth progression of files and excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
• Producing documents using BigHand and assisting with drafting legal documents, including contracts, completion statements, property searches, SDLT/LTT returns and Land Registry applications.
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, referrers, solicitors and third parties, maintaining clear and professional communication both face-to-face and by telephone.
• Maintaining accurate, compliant and up-to-date client files.
• Obtaining required documentation from clients, the other side and third parties (HMLR, HMRC, lenders).
• Preparing files for completion and handling post-completion work.
• Ensuring full compliance with CQS Protocol, Lexcel Protocol and internal office procedures.
• Downloading mortgage offers and requesting redemption statements.
• General file administration, including printing, scanning, opening and closing files.
About You
• Previous experience in a Conveyancing role is essential.
• Strong understanding of conveyancing terminology and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook; experience with LEAP is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Able to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
