Conveyancing Assistant
Location: Wakefield
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
A well-established and respected law firm in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with at least two years' conveyancing experience to become part of a supportive and professional firm. You'll play a key role in assisting fee earners with a varied caseload, helping to ensure transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
• Liaising with estate agents and mortgage brokers via telephone and email to provide updates on transactions.
• Handling incoming client enquiries and resolving matters wherever possible.
• Preparing and issuing contract packs.
• Assisting with replies to enquiries.
• Audio typing and dictation as required.
• Preparing and issuing mortgage reports to clients.
• Managing incoming post and correspondence.
• Requesting mortgage funds, ordering redemption statements and obtaining estate agents' accounts.
• Preparing completion packs, including draft completion statements and bills.
• Assisting with completions and post-completion administration.
• Filing, billing, photocopying and general administrative support.
• Providing additional support to the conveyancing team as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience working within Residential Conveyancing.
• Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• A proactive and positive approach with excellent attention to detail.
