Cook (Temporary – 6 Weeks)

£14.00 per hour
35 Hours per Week
Temporary Assignment (6 Weeks) – Potential for Permanent Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cook to join a busy kitchen team on a temporary basis for an initial 6-week period. This role could be ideal for someone already working in a similar position who is available during the summer break, although applications are welcome from all suitably qualified candidates.
Working in a fast-paced environment like a school canteen, you will be responsible for preparing and serving basic cooked meals, maintaining high food hygiene standards, and supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen and café facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparing and cooking basic meals to a high standard
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are always followed
• Leading kitchen shifts when required
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the centre café
• Assisting with stock control and kitchen organisation
• Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient working environment
Requirements:
• Catering qualification essential
• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Ability to work independently and lead a shift when required
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
• Reliable, organised and able to work in a busy setting
Working Hours:
Rotational shifts:
• 7:00am – 3:00pm
• 11:00am – 7:00pm
