Cost Accountant

Your new company A growing manufacturing business based in Radstock is looking to appoint a Cost Accountant to join its finance team for 3-6 months. Your new role As Cost Accountant, you'll be responsible for monitoring and analysing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate product costing information and supporting month-end reporting processes. Key Responsibilities • Producing detailed cost and margin analysis across product lines • Monitoring material, labour and overhead costs • Analysing manufacturing variances and investigating performance trends • Supporting stock accounting and inventory reconciliations • Maintaining standard costing models and reviewing actual costs against standards • Assisting with month-end reporting and management accounts preparation • Preparing accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities • Providing financial insight to production and operations teams • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying opportunities to reduce waste • Supporting year-end audit requirements • Driving continuous improvement across costing and reporting processes What you'll need to succeed • Previous experience within a Cost Accountant, Management Accountant or Manufacturing Accountant role • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment • Good understanding of stock accounting and cost analysis • Advanced Excel skills • Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with operational teams • Proactive approach with a focus on process improvement What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
