The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for delivering pre-planned lessons during the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils continue to learn within a positive and structured classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include: • Delivering lesson instructions provided by teaching staff. • Managing behaviour consistently and professionally. • Encouraging pupil participation and maintaining a productive learning environment. • Responding calmly to different classroom situations. • Providing feedback to teaching staff following each lesson. • Supporting schools with both planned and emergency staff absence. Assignments range from one-day bookings through to full-term placements, with permanent opportunities also available for candidates looking to become part of one school community. Candidate Requirements • Previous experience working within Secondary School education • Excellent classroom management skills • Confidence leading groups of pupils independently • Professionalism, flexibility and reliability • The ability to build positive relationships quickly within new schools Applicants from teaching, cover supervision, learning support and instructor backgrounds are all encouraged to apply where relevant classroom experience can be demonstrated.
