Location: Croydon & Surrounding Boroughs Pay: £170-£200 per day (depending on experience and school) Start Date: October Half Term Availability: Must be available for same-day bookings and last-minute call-outs. Are you confident managing a classroom and passionate about supporting young people? We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Croydon and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, graduates, experienced teaching assistants looking to progress, or anyone with experience working with young people who is seeking flexible work in education. The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead lessons during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You won't be required to teach new content, but you will supervise students, deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, and ensure learning continues in a positive and productive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers. • Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects. • Maintain a positive, calm, and well-managed classroom environment. • Manage student behaviour in line with school policies. • Encourage student engagement and support learning where appropriate. • Provide clear feedback to teaching staff at the end of each lesson or day. You should be confident supervising lessons across a broad curriculum, including English and Maths, and be comfortable adapting to different school environments. Requirements • Previous experience working in a school or with young people is desirable. • Strong classroom management and communication skills. • A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to respond to last-minute bookings. • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. • The right to work in the UK.
