Credit Controller – Harrogate £30,000 per annum 40 hours per week Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking to join a friendly and supportive finance team where your contribution will make a real difference? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established business in Harrogate that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the addition of an experienced Credit Controller. You'll be responsible for managing your own ledger, maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring payments are collected efficiently, while working closely with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and support the wider finance function. Duties and responsibilities will include: • Managing your own portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring outstanding invoices are collected in a timely manner • Chasing overdue payments by telephone and email while maintaining positive customer relationships • Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries • Allocating incoming payments and maintaining accurate customer account records • Producing customer statements and supporting the sales ledger function • Monitoring aged debt and escalating any concerns where appropriate • Liaising with internal departments to resolve account discrepancies • Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash allocation • Supporting month-end activities and providing assistance to the wider finance team when required To be considered for this role you will: • Have previous experience working within a Credit Control role, managing the end-to-end credit control process • Be confident communicating with customers and negotiating payment solutions professionally • Have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your workload effectively • Possess strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving • Be comfortable using finance systems and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Enjoy working as part of a team while also being able to work independently This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within a supportive business that values its people.
