Criminal Defence NQ Solicitor London Competitive salary, dependent on experience A well-established criminal defence firm in London is looking to recruit a newly qualified Criminal Defence Solicitor to join its specialist team. The firm has built an excellent reputation across London and the South East for its criminal defence work and offers a strong platform for an ambitious NQ solicitor looking to develop within this area. With a large and experienced team of criminal defence lawyers, the firm provides support, training and exposure to a broad range of matters, including police station work, Magistrates' Court proceedings and Crown Court cases. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload with supervision, assist senior lawyers on more complex matters and build strong client relationships from the outset. The role will involve: • Handling a varied caseload of criminal defence matters • Advising clients at all stages of the criminal justice process • Attending police stations and Magistrates' Court where appropriate • Preparing cases for hearings, trials and conferences with counsel • Liaising with clients, courts, experts and external agencies • Supporting senior solicitors on serious and complex criminal cases The ideal candidate will have: • Recently qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales • A training seat or strong paralegal background in criminal defence • A genuine commitment to criminal law • Strong advocacy, drafting and client care skills • The ability to work well within a busy, specialist team • Police station accreditation would be advantageous, but is not essential This is an excellent opportunity for an NQ solicitor to join a respected criminal defence practice with genuine scope for progression.
