Customs Assistant - FMCG (Food Industry)

Customs Assistant - FMCG Industry, £32-£36k + bonus + benefits , Staines TW18 , Hybrid (1-2 days in office). Monday-Friday. Carpark on site or 10 minute walk from train station. (we would also consider part-time hours) This is a 12 month contract - Polish Speaking advantageous Great opportunity to work for a fast growing company that are seeking a bright, talented individual that would like to grow within the Company. Key Responsibilities for the Customs Assistant Role: Food Industry - FMCG • Checking correct paperwork received from international suppliers • Comparing paperwork with internal systems and dealing with discrepancies. • Uploading data into government systems • Submitting data to customs agents with tight turnaround • Ensure compliance with HMRC • Manage responses to HMRC and other UK Governmental Departments regarding submission queries • Ensure customs requirements are met for shipments to and from both EU and rest of the world. • Coordination with customs agents, suppliers and logistics partners and other teams with the Company. • Contribute to the ongoing development of business processes. • KPI reporting. • Ad Hoc tasks as required/ weekend work occasionally - over time paid Skills for the Customs Assistant: Food Industry - FMCG • Extremely organised • Experience of customs clearance preferred but not essential • Experience in dealing with excise goods would be advantageous • Enjoy working with large sets of data in multiple formats • Bright & energetic • Intermediate Excel skills essential • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels • To be process driven with great attention to detail and understanding of the importance of compliance • Problem solving • Ability to work to tight deadlines • 2nd language preferred - Polish Speaking Why us? • Be part of a team that values innovation, teamwork, and professional growth. • We invest in your growth with opportunities for training and advancement. • Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with flexible working. • Competitive salary, health benefits, and a fun, inclusive workplace culture. • We are an equal opportunity employer.
