Job description

Cyber Security Engineer Location: North East (Hybrid/Office-Based) Contract: Permanent | Full-time (37 hours) Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum plus excellent benefits About the Role We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing IT team, responsible for protecting business systems, infrastructure, and data. This role will support security operations, strengthen cyber resilience, and ensure security best practices are embedded across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor, investigate, and respond to cyber security threats and incidents. • Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and endpoint security. • Implement and maintain secure cloud, network, and endpoint environments. • Support security governance, audits, compliance, and reporting. • Contribute to compliance with recognised security standards (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus). • Work with internal teams and third-party suppliers to improve security controls. • Promote cyber security awareness and continuous improvement across the business. About You: • Experience in a Cyber Security or Security Engineering role. • Knowledge of enterprise security technologies, including firewalls, SIEM, EDR, Microsoft Defender, and vulnerability management tools. • Experience securing Microsoft Azure environments. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. • Experience with security incident response and risk management. Desirable • Industry certifications such as Microsoft SC-200, AZ-500, SC-100, or ISC² SSCP, CCSP, or CISSP. This is an exciting time of growth and change at the organisation.
