Job description

Venn Group are working in partnership with a well-regarded public sector organisation to recruit a Data Engineer into a growing data and analytics function. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data professional to play a key role in shaping and developing modern data solutions that support operational reporting, business intelligence and strategic decision making. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, developing robust data models and ensuring high quality, secure and accessible data across the organisation's reporting environment. Key Responsibilities • Build and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies • Develop lakehouse architectures, data models and semantic layers • Integrate data from a variety of operational systems, cloud platforms and APIs • Optimise datasets and reporting performance within the Microsoft ecosystem • Support data governance, quality, security and compliance initiatives • Work closely with analysts and stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions Requirements • Proven experience in data engineering using Microsoft Fabric, Azure or similar platforms • Strong knowledge of data modelling and modern analytics architectures • Experience optimising data for Power BI reporting and dashboards • Strong SQL skills with experience of DAX and Python or other scripting languages • Understanding of data governance, GDPR and data quality best practice • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
