Job description

DATA GOVERNANCE LEAD LONDON/HYBRID UP TO £85,000 This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing data governance function within a business undergoing a major data transformation. You will play a central role in shaping governance frameworks, implementing new tooling, and enabling better, more trusted use of data across the organisation. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Governance Lead will: • Lead the implementation of a new data governance platform, owning the process end to end • Develop and embed data governance frameworks, standards and best practices • Establish and drive data ownership and stewardship models across the organisation • Define and implement data contracts to support reliable data product development • Lead data lineage initiatives, mapping flows from source systems to reporting layers • Support data compliance activities, including GDPR requests, data retention and governance controls • Assess and improve data governance maturity against recognised frameworks • Engage and influence stakeholders across both technical and non technical teams • Contribute to the evolution of the governance function, with potential for future line management responsibility YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: • Strong commercial experience in data governance within a modern data environment • Proven expertise in data lineage and understanding of end to end data flows • Solid knowledge of data compliance and GDPR principles • Experience implementing or managing data governance tools such as Collibra or Informatica • Understanding of data products and data contracts is advantageous • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of key initiatives APPLY BELOW!
