Data Quality Analyst

Role Profile: Data Quality Analyst Role Purpose Responsible for ensuring data across the organisation is accurate, complete, consistent and reliable - tracking down anomalies, understanding how data flows through the business, and improving quality at source and downstream. Acts as the link between business needs and technical delivery. Core Responsibilities • Profile datasets against quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity) and track issues over time via dashboards • Define and refine data quality rules with stakeholders; build automated checks into ETL/warehouse/reporting environments • Investigate root causes of anomalies and work with system owners on fixes and longer-term prevention • Support data governance: dictionaries, quality frameworks, stewardship and consistent data definitions • Partner with data engineers, analysts and SMEs to embed quality controls and automate validation/cleansing Skills & Experience • Strong SQL for analysis, validation and investigation • Track record delivering data quality improvement plans (regulated sector a plus) • Familiarity with governance tools (e.g. Azure Purview) • Experience setting data quality metrics, thresholds and dashboards • Understanding of ETL processes and translating business rules into technical validation logic • Clear communicator, able to explain complex findings simply Attributes • Curious and methodical, but delivery-focused • Confident challenging assumptions • Sees data quality as core to good system design, not just inspection Oscar Associates (UK) Limited is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
