Working alongside our Group Medical Director, Executive Leadership Team and Clinical Governance colleagues, you will play a key role in strengthening quality, developing our medical workforce and ensuring outstanding patient care remains at the heart of everything we do. Why This Role Matters As Deputy Medical Director, you will help shape both the strategic direction and day-to-day quality of our services. You will influence how clinical governance is delivered across the organisation, support and develop doctors and GP Registrars, lead investigations and learning following incidents, and work closely with operational leaders to ensure patients consistently receive safe, high-quality care. Importantly, you will be joining an organisation that values clinical leadership and empowers its leaders to make meaningful change This is not simply a governance role. This is a role for someone who wants to: Drive improvements in patient safety Influence service development across multiple sites Mentor and support the next generation of clinicians Shape organisational culture Lead quality improvement initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes Represent clinical excellence at senior organisational level What You'll Be Doing You will provide visible and inspiring leadership across the organisation, working closely with senior colleagues to: Lead and support clinical governance and quality improvement programmes. Oversee clinical audit activity and drive organisational learning. Recruit, induct, develop and support doctors and GP Registrars. Provide professional leadership and line management to medical colleagues. Lead on complaints, serious incidents and patient safety investigations. Prepare Patient Safety Incident Investigation (PSII) reports. Represent the organisation at Coroner's Inquests where required. Build productive relationships with commissioners, NHS England, the CQC and partner organisations. Support the Medical Director in delivering strategic priorities and strengthening clinical governance systems across SELDOC.
