Job description

Design Manager London £65,000-£70,000 + Package We're supporting a growing contractor-developer entering a new phase of strategic growth under new ownership and a modern, forward-thinking leadership team. With a secured pipeline of multi-rise residential and high-density new-build schemes, the business is strengthening its technical and design capability to support a more structured, coordinated and compliant delivery model. We're now looking for a Design Manager who can coordinate design information across complex multi-storey projects, ensuring clarity, buildability and compliance from pre-construction through delivery. You'll work closely with architects, engineers and specialist consultants, helping drive technical consistency and supporting the wider project team with accurate, timely information. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate design across multi-rise residential and complex new-build schemes • Support pre-construction design development, ensuring buildability and compliance • Work with architects, engineers and consultants across structural, civil, façade and MEP disciplines • Maintain design trackers, information schedules and quality control processes • Review design proposals to ensure alignment with budgets, programme and value-engineering opportunities • Support planning submissions, technical approvals and regulatory compliance • Ensure design information meets Building Regulations and modern safety requirements • Chair design coordination meetings and provide clear updates to project teams • Facilitate communication between construction, commercial, technical and client teams • Manage document control processes and ensure accurate information flow What We're Looking For: • Experience as a Design Manager for a main contractor or developer • Background in design & build, new-build residential or multi-storey projects • Understanding of façade and envelope interfaces within new-build environments • Strong knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations • Confident managing consultants and multiple stakeholders • Organised, proactive and solutions-focused • Clear communicator with credibility across internal teams and clients • Able to manage design information in a fast-paced environment What's In It For You: • £65,000-£70,000 salary • Strong package and benefits • Opportunity to join early and influence how the design function develops • Direct access to senior leadership and a respected technical team • A pipeline of multi-rise residential schemes • Clear progression as the business continues to grow
