Despatch Operative Location: Hull City Centre (HU2) Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts on a 3-week rotation: • Week 1: 8:30am - 4:00pm • Week 2: 9:00am - 5:00pm • Week 3: 10:00am - 6:00pm About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Despatch Operative to join a busy warehouse and logistics operation based in HU2, Hull. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork. As a Despatch Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are picked accurately and prepared for dispatch while maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping. Key Responsibilities • Order picking from floor-level pick points. • Operating lifting and handling equipment, including Power Pallet Trucks (PPT) and Hand Pallet Trucks. • Ensuring inventory accuracy through the effective use of inventory management systems. • Preparing and processing orders for dispatch. • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and supporting recycling initiatives. • Working flexibly to support operational requirements and staffing levels. • Following all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices. • Carrying out any other duties within the remit of the role as requested by supervisors or managers. Candidate Requirements • Previous warehouse, despatch, order picking, or logistics experience is desirable. • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a busy environment. • Strong attention to detail. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Positive attitude and reliable work ethic. • Experience operating pallet trucks is advantageous but not essential.
