Diagnostic Vehicle Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of Diagnostic Vehicle Technician in Manchester. Benefits: • Competitive salary package, based on experience, starting at £41,000 with an OTE of £47,750 • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with entitlement increasing based on service levels • Manufacturer-approved training and ongoing professional development • Life assurance and contributory pension scheme • Employee discounts on vehicle servicing, purchases, and exclusive lifestyle perks • Access to the latest diagnostic tools and advanced technology • Supportive team environment focused on wellbeing and career growth Duties of a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician: • Conduct detailed diagnostic assessments using manufacturer-standard equipment • Carry out repairs and maintenance, including electrical diagnostics, to ensure vehicle safety and compliance • Perform routine servicing tasks according to manufacturer guidelines • Use digital systems to complete accurate job cards and detailed work documentation • Support electronic diagnostic procedures, including eVHCs • Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures at all times • Maintain a clean, organised workshop environment • Provide excellent customer service by explaining findings and repair recommendations efficiently Requirements of a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician : • Recognised Level 3 qualification such as IMI, City & Guilds, or equivalent • Proven experience as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician in a motor trade environment • Strong diagnostic skills with a thorough understanding of modern vehicle systems • MOT licence is desirable; comprehensive training can be provided if not currently qualified • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous professional development • Eagerness to expand technical knowledge through manufacturer training programmes This position offers a unique platform for a dedicated Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to develop their skills within a forward-thinking organisation committed to excellence.
