Job description

The Opportunity Initial assignment expected to run for 6–9 months for an Interim Director of Finance, an experienced and strategically minded finance leader required to provide interim senior leadership support whilst helping to deliver one of the organisation's most significant financial transformation priorities. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished finance professional to shape the future financial planning framework of a major public sector organisation through the implementation of a strategic budgeting process whilst ensuring continuity and stability across the wider finance function. About the role Reporting into the executive leadership team, you will provide senior finance leadership cover. Key responsibilities will include: • Providing strategic leadership and oversight of the finance function. • Leading and supporting the implementation of a strategic budgeting framework. • Working with senior stakeholders to align financial resources with organisational priorities and operational outcomes. • Leading strategic budgeting, resource allocation and medium-term financial planning activities. • Supporting budget development and financial decision-making across the organisation. • Maintaining strong governance, financial control and reporting arrangements. About You We are keen to hear from experienced finance leaders who can quickly establish credibility, influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively within a complex environment. You will ideally bring: • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). • Significant senior finance leadership experience. • Experience leading strategic budgeting, financial planning and resource prioritisation programmes. • Strong commercial and strategic thinking with the ability to connect financial decisions to organisational objectives and service outcomes. • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong relationships across operational and corporate functions. • A track record of leading through change and supporting organisational transformation.
