Job description

We're looking for a Distribution Operator to join a busy distribution team. This is a fast-paced role where you'll support the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring deliveries run smoothly while providing excellent communication to drivers, customers, and internal teams. You'll be responsible for resolving driver queries, preparing transport documentation, assisting with route planning, monitoring compliance with transport regulations, and handling general transport administration. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be liaising with drivers, customers, suppliers, and colleagues throughout the day. Key Responsibilities • Support the daily transport operation and distribution planning. • Respond to driver queries and resolve operational issues. • Prepare transport documentation for warehouse loading and dispatch. • Assist with route planning and vehicle utilisation. • Complete transport administration, invoicing, cost checks, and KPI reporting. • Ensure compliance with driver hours and transport legislation. • Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. About You • Previous experience within transport, logistics, or distribution within road freight our courier setting. • Knowledge of transport regulations and drivers' hours. • Strong communication and customer service skills. • Confident using transport management systems and Microsoft Office. • Able to prioritise workloads and remain calm under pressure. • A proactive team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
