Document Controller Salary: £28,000£35,000 (depending on experience) Department: Engineering Reporting to: Engineering Manager and/or Head of Procurement About the Role We're looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our Engineering team. This is a key role that ensures our engineering documentation is accurate, up to date, and efficiently managed throughout the lifecycle of every project. Working closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams, you'll play an important part in maintaining document control standards, supporting project delivery, and ensuring our customers receive complete and accurate technical documentation. Key Responsibilities As our Document Controller, you will: • Manage and maintain all engineering project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. • Control the issue and distribution of contract drawings, ensuring only the latest approved revisions are available to the relevant teams. • Maintain accurate revision control and document registers. • Archive, retrieve and manage project documentation in line with company procedures. • Prepare comprehensive site installation documentation packs. • Compile and issue final project documentation to customers via email, secure file transfer or customer portals. • Maintain both electronic and hard-copy filing systems to a high standard. • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to ensure documentation is complete, accurate and current. • Provide controlled documentation to support internal and external audits. • Review and issue completed technical documentation at project completion. • Provide administrative support and holiday cover for colleagues when required. • Assist with continuous improvement of document control processes. • Carry out any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role. • Comply with and support the company's Business Management System within your area of responsibility. What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience • Previous experience in a Document Controller, Technical Administrator or similar administrative role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF software. • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. • Confident communicator who can work effectively with colleagues across multiple departments. • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. • A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to work. • A team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is essential. Working Hours 37.5 hours per week Monday to Thursday Flexible start: 07:3009:00 Flexible finish: 16:1517:45 Friday Flexible start: 07:3008:30 Flexible finish: 12:0013:00 Why Join Us?
