Driver/Labourer • Pay: £15.31 • Location: Kirklees District and surrounding areas • Job Type: Full-time Join our Repairs and Maintenance Service team as a Driver/Labourer, where you will play a crucial role in providing repair, maintenance, and refurbishment services to housing and public buildings across Kirklees. This position requires safe transportation of staff, materials, and equipment, as well as assisting with labouring duties to ensure efficient and safe completion of work. Day-to-day of the role: • Driving and Transport: • Transport operatives, materials, and equipment safely to, from, and between work sites. • Collect supplies and materials as needed. • Ensure compliance with traffic regulations and maintain vehicle cleanliness and security. • Labouring Support: • Assist trade operatives with construction and maintenance activities. • Perform tasks such as lifting and carrying materials, loading and unloading vehicles, and mixing construction materials. • Site Management: • Prepare and clear sites before and after work, ensuring all waste is disposed of according to Council procedures. • Maintain cleanliness and safety at work sites. • Equipment and Compliance: • Erect and dismantle scaffolding as required, adhering to safety standards. • Complete necessary records and documentation accurately. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Experience in labouring within the building or construction trade. • Practical experience in a construction environment. • Basic understanding of environmental and customer care principles. • Full, valid UK driving licence. • Ability to undertake physically demanding tasks. • Willingness to undergo PASMA training and CSCS certification. • Enhanced DBS check and medical screening as required.
