Education Penalty Notice Officer
Location: Wembley, Brent
Rate: £20.08 per hour PAYE
Contract: Ongoing Temporary Assignment
Working Pattern: 3 Days Office-Based / 2 Days Remote
DBS Requirement: Basic DBS Required
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an Education Penalty Notice Officer to join a busy local authority team based in Wembley, Brent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong data entry skills and some finance experience to support the administration and processing of Education Penalty Notices.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring penalty notices are accurately processed, payments are monitored, records are maintained, and statutory deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and administer Education Penalty Notices in accordance with legislation and council procedures.
• Accurately input and maintain data on internal systems and databases.
• Monitor payments and outstanding notices.
• Assist with invoicing and basic financial administration.
• Carry out basic calculations and reconciliation work as required.
• Produce correspondence, reports, and documentation relating to penalty notices.
• Respond to enquiries from schools, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
• Support the wider Education Welfare and Attendance Team with administrative duties.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
Essential Requirements
Experience
• Previous administrative experience within a local authority, education, customer service, or similar office-based environment.
• Experience of high-volume data entry and record management.
• Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Some finance administration experience, including invoicing, payment monitoring, or basic financial processing.
Skills
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Strong data inputting and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.
• Professional and customer-focused approach.
Requirements
• Basic DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Ability to work 3 days per week from the Wembley office.
• Available for an immediate start.
