Emergency Housing Officer • Rate: £21.41 PAYE | £28.19 Umbrella • Job Type: Contract • Location: Wembley • Hybrid Working: 3 days in office / 2 days from home • Working Hours: 9am to 5pm / Monday to Friday We are seeking two experienced Emergency Housing Officers to support homeless households and manage emergency accommodation placements within a busy local authority housing service. This role is ideal for professionals with a solid background in housing and homelessness legislation, and who are skilled in using housing management systems. Day-to-day of the role: • Create and manage placements and properties within the housing system. • Open and close bookings as required. • Set up and manage rent accounts for emergency accommodations. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tenancy and placement records. • Ensure compliance with Section 188 and Section 193 duties, manage Licence Agreements, and handle Non-Secure Tenancies. • Utilise NEC, CRM, and Locata systems to enhance operational efficiency. • Communicate effectively with residents, providers, landlords, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Expert knowledge of NEC, CRM, and Locata systems. • Strong understanding of Housing Law and Homelessness Legislation, including Temporary and Emergency Accommodation processes. • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in housing management systems and databases. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly in both written and spoken English. • Customer-focused approach, with empathy, patience, and resilience, especially when supporting vulnerable households. • Experience in Emergency Accommodation or Temporary Accommodation, preferably within a Local Authority housing context. • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
