Job description

Employment Paralegal / NQ Solicitor (Employment Law) – Stockport We are supporting a highly regarded and long-established law firm with the recruitment of an Employment Paralegal / Newly Qualified Solicitor to join their Employment team in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit team of experienced employment specialists, working alongside everyone from Supervising Secretary through to Partner level. You'll support a predominantly respondent-focused caseload across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, acting for a broad range of employer clients and gaining exposure to high-quality work from day one. The role would suit someone with at least 12 months' employment law experience who is looking to continue developing their technical expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities in this Employment Paralegal / NQ Solicitor role: • Supporting fee earners on a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters • Assisting with Employment Tribunal claims, including preparing Early Case Assessments and drafting ET3 responses • Liaising with clients, Employment Tribunals and other parties throughout the life of a matter • Reviewing case papers and supporting the management of Preliminary Hearings • Preparing witness statements and assisting with case preparation • Attending Employment Tribunal hearings to provide support and take detailed notes • Undertaking legal research to support ongoing matters and case strategy • Preparing hearing bundles, disclosure bundles and organising case files • Ensuring matters are conducted in accordance with the firm's quality standards, Lexcel accreditation and SRA Code of Conduct • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience About You – Employment Paralegal / NQ Solicitor Experience • A minimum of 12 months' experience within employment law • Previous experience supporting or managing Employment Tribunal matters • Strong technical knowledge of employment law and employment procedures • Excellent communication and client care skills • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving • Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team • A genuine interest in employment law and supporting employer clients Benefits: • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays • Additional paid office closure between Christmas and New Year • Birthday off • Private healthcare • Medical cashback scheme • 24-hour GP service • Life assurance (4x salary) • Enhanced sick pay • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave and pay • Employer pension contribution • £1,000 employee referral scheme • Employee reward voucher schemes • Genuine long-term career development within a respected and supportive law firm If you feel that you have the skills and experience to be successful in this Employment Paralegal / NQ Solicitor role, we'd love to hear from you – please apply now.
