Job description

Job Title: Estate Operative Location: Croydon Hourly rate £17.59 PAYE / £23.24 UMB Per Hour Contract Length: 3-month contract (possibility of extension) Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 36 hours ASAP Start About the Role As an Estate Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and appearance of communal and external areas while supporting the smooth operation of the estate. Your duties will include: • Carrying out regular estate inspections and reporting maintenance issues • Ensuring communal areas, bin stores, car parks and cycle stores are clean, safe and well-presented • Undertaking litter picking, refuse management and basic cleaning duties • Assisting with minor maintenance tasks, including adjusting doors, hinges and fixtures • Supporting soft landscaping activities such as watering, weed removal and leaf clearance • Assisting with building systems testing, including emergency lighting and fire safety systems • Monitoring health and safety compliance across the estate • Supporting contractor management, including sign-in procedures and permit checking • Assisting with building security, CCTV monitoring and visitor management • Responding professionally to resident enquiries and concerns • Supporting resident move-ins, move-outs and community events About You We're looking for someone who: • Has experience working in a customer service or service delivery environment • Has experience carrying out basic cleaning, maintenance or repair tasks • Understands health and safety requirements, including COSHH and risk assessments • Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of people • Takes ownership of issues and delivers solutions • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team • Demonstrates a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion • Is physically capable of carrying out manual duties, including lifting and the use of cleaning equipment A full clean driving licence would be advantageous.
