Estimator | Exeter | Temp-to-PermLocation: Exeter Job Type: Temp-to-Perm Salary: £45,000–£60,000 DOE + Benefits Sector: Construction / Infrastructure We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator from any construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure background to join a business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The RoleAs Estimator, you'll play a key role in the tendering process, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects. Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you'll help secure new business while ensuring tenders are commercially viable and delivered to a high standard. This is a varied position that offers exposure to a wide range of projects and genuine opportunities for career development. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions. • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation. • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. • Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options. • Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders. • Assist with pricing variations and commercial proposals. • Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines. • Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team. About YouWe're looking for an Estimator with strong commercial awareness and experience producing competitive tenders. Ideally you'll have: • Previous experience as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator. • Experience within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, M&E or a related sector. • Strong understanding of estimating principles and cost planning. • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software. • Full UK driving licence.
