Working alongside leading interior designers, architects, developers, and private clients, we create outstanding craftsmanship where nothing less than excellence is expected. Our workshop is based in the picturesque Hampshire village of South Harting, just five minutes from Petersfield and the A3, our workshop is located on a beautiful 16th-century farm and comprises over 300m² of manufacturing facilities. As the location of the main workshop is remote, this role has the option to be based at one of our offices in Petersfield (preferable) or London if required. The Role We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a minimum of three years' experience within the bespoke joinery or woodworking industry. This is a key position within the business, responsible for producing accurate, detailed quotations and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to successful handover. Working closely with the Directors and Production team, you will ensure projects are correctly scoped, accurately costed, and commercially viable. The successful candidate will be confident interpreting technical drawings, understanding manufacturing methods, finishes, and a wide range of materials used in high-end bespoke joinery. Experience in procurement would be a distinct advantage. Working within a small, highly skilled team, you will be self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple tenders while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Key Responsibilities • Manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final proposal. • Review tender documentation and technical drawings to identify project scope. • Identify commercial risks, specialist requirements, and third-party involvement. • Coordinate internal meetings to clarify project requirements. • Obtain accurate quotations for materials, specialist items, and outsourced manufacturing. • Produce comprehensive and professional client quotations. • Assist with procurement of outsourced products and specialist materials. • Follow up quotations with clients and negotiate where appropriate. • Identify opportunities for value engineering and alternative design solutions. • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage future tender opportunities. • Prepare comprehensive handover documentation for the Production team on successful projects. • Monitor project costs alongside the Project Manager to ensure budgets are maintained throughout delivery. Requirements • Minimum three years' estimating experience within a bespoke joinery or woodworking environment. • Excellent understanding of joinery manufacturing techniques, construction methods, and materials. • Ability to confidently read and interpret technical and architectural drawings. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and ERP software. • Strong organisational and planning skills. • Excellent attention to detail. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Professional, reliable, punctual, and well presented. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
