Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment and infrastructure within our premises to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Duties
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on care equipment, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.
• Repair or replace faulty components using skills in plumbing, electrical work, or mechanical maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
• Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from Home Manager
• Ensure the work area is kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
Experience
• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of general building maintenance.
• Experience in plumbing, painting, joinery highly desirable.
• Prior experience in a maintenance setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and teamwork.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues across departments.
This role requires a proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to safety standards. Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Pay: £13.45 per hour
