Job description

• Lead and coordinate the day-to-day delivery of cleaning, catering, laundry and portering services across hospital wards and departments. • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, food service, safety and housekeeping are consistently maintained. • Manage staff rotas, allocate daily workloads and arrange cover for sickness and annual leave. • Supervise, motivate and support a team of facilities staff, creating a positive and productive working environment. • Carry out audits, inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with national standards and Trust requirements. • Work closely with matrons, ward managers, clinical teams and other departments to support patient care and service delivery. • Monitor stock levels, equipment and resources, ensuring services operate efficiently and within budget. • Support recruitment, induction, training, performance management and staff development activities. • Respond to operational challenges, prioritise workloads and resolve issues quickly and effectively. • Oversee contractors working on site and ensure agreed standards and service levels are achieved.
