Job description

The Opportunity A well-established education-focused organisation is seeking a Finance Officer to join its central finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a varied role, supporting multiple stakeholders and contributing to the effective management of financial operations. Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and helping deliver efficient financial processes across the organisation. Key Responsibilities • Processing purchase orders, invoices and supplier payments • Managing accounts payable and receivable activities • Reconciling financial transactions, expenses and income streams • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow monitoring • Monitoring expenditure against budgets and highlighting variances • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit processes • Supporting procurement activities and contract monitoring • Contributing to the development and improvement of financial systems and procedures • Providing financial guidance and support to operational stakeholders across the organisation What we're looking for • Previous experience in a finance and/or administrative role • AAT Level 3 or 4 • Strong numerical and analytical skills • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy • Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office applications • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • A proactive and collaborative approach to work What's on offer • The opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative finance team • A varied role with broad exposure to finance operations and reporting • Ongoing professional development opportunities • The chance to make a meaningful contribution within a values-led organisation • Competitive salary and benefits package Due to the nature of the organisation, the successful candidate will be subject to the appropriate pre-employment checks.
