Finance Assistant (AAT / Graduate Opportunity)

This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Graduate or an individual who has recently completed (or is nearing completion of) their AAT qualification and is looking to build a long-term career in finance.
Working within a supportive finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and finance processes, with full study support available towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA). The role offers a clear development pathway towards becoming a Management Accountant, making it ideal for someone ambitious, eager to learn and looking to progress their finance career.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Finance Administration
• Raise invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Produce premium collection reports.
• Process and record customer refunds.
• Collate and distribute broker commission statements.
• Respond to premium receipt queries.
• Assist with credit control and collection of outstanding debt.
• Produce analysis to support clients' P11D calculations.
Direct Debit & Payment Processing
• Assist with the preparation and upload of weekly direct debit collection files to the BACS system.
• Assist with recording BACS receipts within Salesforce.
• Assist with processing ADDACS and ARRUDS reports and updating records accordingly.
Process Improvement & Compliance
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Adhere to compliance procedures and regulatory requirements, including the identification and support of vulnerable customers.
• Develop a working knowledge of wider business functions and processes.
About You
• Finance degree (or equivalent) or AAT qualified / studying towards AAT.
• Strong understanding of sales ledger processes.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
Desirable
• Experience using Salesforce.
• Experience using QuickBooks.
• Previous experience in a finance, accounts, administration or customer service environment.
• Understanding of direct debit processes, BACS, ADDACS and ARRUDS.
