Finance Manager

Robertson Bell is delighted to be partnering with a well-established, values-driven organisation to recruit a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation that provides essential services across multiple sites. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll lead the transactional finance function, overseeing a small team while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial information that supports key business decisions. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and oversight of the in-house payroll function. Working closely with operational managers and senior stakeholders, you'll drive process improvements, strengthen financial controls and play a key role in supporting the wider finance function. The RoleReporting to the Head of Finance, you'll be responsible for: • Leading, coaching and developing a team of two Finance Officers and a Finance Assistant. • Overseeing Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Banking, reconciliations and the in-house payroll process. • Ensuring month-end reconciliations are completed accurately to support high-quality management reporting. • Supporting the production of management accounts, budgets, forecasts and the annual audit. • Acting as the key finance contact for operational managers, providing financial guidance across multiple sites. • Monitoring debtor and creditor performance while ensuring income and funding are accurately allocated. • Driving continuous improvement, strengthening financial controls and deputising for the Head of Finance when required. The PersonWe're looking for a proactive finance professional who enjoys developing people, improving processes and building strong working relationships. You'll ideally have: • Experience leading or supervising a transactional finance team. • Strong knowledge of Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Banking, reconciliations and month-end processes. • Experience overseeing or supporting payroll processes would be advantageous. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Strong Excel and finance systems experience. An AAT qualification (or equivalent experience) would be beneficial but isn't essential. Likewise, sector experience is welcomed but not required.
