Job description

The Finance Controller will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with departments across the UK and provide timely and accurate financial reporting to the Head Office and local management team. Description • Prepare and review financial statements in adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance. • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to guide strategic planning. • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparing VAT returns and liaising with tax authorities. • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency. • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits to ensure compliance and transparency. • Provide financial advice and support to key stakeholders within the organisation. Profile A successful Financial Accountant should have: • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) or equivalent. • Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis within a similar role. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations. • Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
