Job description

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting a leading manufacturing company with the recruitment of a Finance Manager. Permanent position. This role will be based at the company’s Stanningley, Pudsey office in West Yorkshire. Monday - Friday (Flexible start and finish times are available). Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial and accounting operations, providing accurate reporting and commercial insight to support continued business growth. Salary £45,000–£60,000, depending on experience and qualification level Key Responsibilities • Lead the month-end close process and ensure all reporting deadlines are achieved. • Prepare accurate consolidated monthly management accounts and KPI reports. • Produce clear and commercially focused board reporting packs. • Maintain robust balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items. • Manage overhead reporting and support departmental managers with cost control. • Partner with operational stakeholders, providing constructive challenge around performance and spending decisions. • Support the Finance Director with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting. • Produce forecasts across profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital. • Lead, motivate and support members of the Finance team. • Monitor debtors, cash flow and working-capital performance throughout the month. • Provide accurate weekly debtor-finance reporting to the Finance Director and Managing Director. • Liaise with the company’s banking partners regarding its debtor-finance arrangements. • Take responsibility for the annual stock count and investigate stock variances. • Analyse manufacturing data, costed bills of materials and new-product development costs. • Act as the main point of contact for the annual audit and liaise with external accountants. • Ensure VAT returns are submitted accurately and HMRC queries are resolved. • Oversee the correct accounting treatment of deferred VAT, duty and postponed VAT accounting. • Support the Financial Accountant with in-house payroll and headcount reporting. • Maintain the fixed-asset register, depreciation policies and capitalisation thresholds. • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and remove non-value-adding activities. Skills & Experience • Previous experience working as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant or in a comparable senior finance role. • Experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential. • ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience. • Previous experience leading or managing members of a Finance team. • Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience. • Good understanding of cash-flow management, working capital and debtor reporting. • Experience analysing manufacturing costs, stock and bills of materials would be advantageous. • Strong Excel, data-analysis and financial-reporting skills. • Experience supporting an ERP-system implementation would be beneficial but is not essential. • Commercially minded, with the confidence to support and challenge senior stakeholders. • Organised and structured, with the ability to coordinate others and meet demanding deadlines. • Clear communicator with a collaborative and continuous-improvement mindset.
