Job description

Company This is a rare opportunity to join a successful, growing business at a pivotal stage in its journey. Following a sustained period of expansion, the organisation is continuing to invest in its people, processes and infrastructure to support the next phase of growth. Finance sits at the heart of that evolution, and this role offers the chance to make a genuine impact. As Financial Controller, you will become a trusted partner to the Finance Director, leading a high performing finance function while helping to modernise systems, improve reporting, strengthen controls and support future growth initiatives. For someone who thrives on ownership, challenge and continuous improvement, this role offers significant scope to shape the future of the function and develop towards a future Finance Director pathway. Key Responsibilities • Lead the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts, month end and year end reporting. • Oversee statutory reporting, audit coordination and financial compliance. • Manage and develop both the financial accounting and transactional finance teams. • Drive improvements in financial controls, reporting quality and operational efficiency. • Support budgeting, forecasting, treasury and cashflow management activities. • Take ownership of FX exposure and related financial processes. • Play a key role in finance transformation initiatives, including future ERP implementation and process automation. • Support international growth activities and help establish scalable finance structures. • Act as a trusted deputy to the Finance Director, providing leadership across the wider finance function. Preferred Skills & Experience We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience gained within a growing, evolving or entrepreneurial business environment. You'll bring: • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise. • Experience leading both financial accounting and transactional finance teams. • A proactive, hands-on approach coupled with strategic thinking. • The confidence to challenge, influence and drive positive change. • A track record of improving processes, systems and controls. • Experience of finance transformation, ERP projects, international operations or FX management would be highly advantageous. • Ambition, resilience and a genuine ownership mentality. If you're looking for a role where you can influence business performance, lead meaningful change and position yourself for future senior leadership opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.
