Job description

Join a Leading Travel Business We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance function and play a key role in shaping the financial success of our growing travel business. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with a passion for the travel industry and a proven track record of working at Financial Controller level within a travel company. You'll work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board, providing strategic financial insight while leading a high-performing finance team. About the Role As Financial Controller, you'll have overall responsibility for the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, statutory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting. You'll also lead process improvements, support commercial decision-making, and drive efficiencies across the business. Key responsibilities include: • Leading and developing a team of finance professionals. • Owning the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes. • Preparing Board reports and presenting financial performance to senior stakeholders. • Managing statutory compliance, including CAA, ABTA, VAT, audit and other travel industry regulatory requirements. • Overseeing management accounts, variance analysis and financial reporting. • Driving continuous improvement of finance systems and processes. • Partnering with departments across the business to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-making. What We're Looking For Essential • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). • Minimum two years' experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager within the travel industry. • Previous experience working for a travel business is essential. • Experience managing and developing finance teams. • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders. • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Desirable • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. • Experience improving finance systems, reporting and automation. Why Join Us?
