Assistant Underwriter - Financial Institutions Specialist MGA | London Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 About the Role A specialist London market MGA is looking for an ambitious and detail-focused Assistant Underwriter to join their growing Financial Institutions team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their underwriting career within the specialty insurance market, gaining exposure to complex Financial Institutions risks while working closely with experienced underwriters in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will support the underwriting team across new business, renewals, broker relationships and portfolio management, while building strong technical and commercial underwriting skills. Key Responsibilities * Support underwriting decisions across new business and renewal opportunities. * Review submissions, analyse risk information and assist with underwriting assessments. * Support with quotes, endorsements, policy documentation and portfolio administration. * Work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to maintain strong relationships. * Maintain accurate underwriting data and support reporting requirements. * Monitor portfolio performance and market developments. * Assist the wider underwriting team with day-to-day underwriting activities. About You The ideal candidate will have: * Previous experience within insurance, underwriting or broking. * A genuine interest in developing a career within Financial Institutions underwriting. * Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders. * A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and progress.
