Job description

FIRE SAFETY REMEDIATION OFFICER • Rendall & Rittner • Competitive • Hybrid - Home Based ROLE OVERVIEW You will play a pivotal role in making homes safer by driving fire safety remediation across a large and varied residential portfolio. Home based, with occasional office attendance, you will coordinate investigations, scope solutions and oversee the delivery of remedial works that address building safety risks, from external wall systems to compartmentation and life safety systems. Working closely with surveyors, consultants, contractors and resident stakeholders, you will translate technical findings into clear action plans, track progress to closure and ensure full compliance with evolving legislation and internal standards. Your work will directly improve residents’ peace of mind and demonstrate our commitment to doing the right thing, the right way. ROLE EXPECTATIONS Most days you will review reports and evidence, prioritise risks, and convert recommendations into robust, costed remediation plans. You will coordinate multiple projects, chair progress meetings, manage stakeholder communications, and keep meticulous records to evidence compliance and support funding or recovery routes. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • You consistently move buildings from identified risk to verified compliance, on time and within agreed budgets. • You maintain a clear, auditable “golden thread” of information from assessment through to sign-off. • Residents and client stakeholders are well-informed, reassured and engaged throughout each project. • Contractors, surveyors and consultants are effectively managed with strong performance and safety outcomes. • Risks are prioritised intelligently, with interim measures implemented and retired appropriately. • Reports, dashboards and board updates are accurate, timely and insight-led. HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME • Reviewing FRA actions, EWS assessments and intrusive survey findings to define remediation scopes. • Developing programmes, budgets and procurement packs; appointing and onboarding delivery partners. • Coordinating site investigations, enabling works and remediation, ensuring safe, compliant delivery. • Managing stakeholder communications, including resident updates, FAQs and meeting forums. • Maintaining comprehensive project records, trackers and evidence for sign-off and assurance. • Preparing concise progress reports for clients, internal leaders and external authorities as needed. WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR • You are methodical, calm under pressure and motivated by doing meaningful, safety-critical work. • You communicate complex technical matters in clear, empathetic language for non-technical audiences. • You balance diligence with pace, making pragmatic decisions while maintaining high standards. • You build trusted relationships and hold suppliers to account with fairness and firmness. • You are data- and evidence-driven, with an eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS • Coordinating building safety or construction remediation projects within residential property. • Interpreting fire risk assessments, external wall assessments and survey reports into actionable plans. • Working with contractors and consultants on scoped works, procurement and site oversight. • Managing resident communications on safety matters and navigating sensitive concerns. • Using project and document management tools to maintain audit-ready records and reporting. WHAT WE OFFER • Competitive salary, aligned to experience • Discretionary bonus • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays • Private medical insurance, life assurance and enhanced family leave • Fully funded training and professional development • Paid sabbaticals as a loyalty reward • Pension scheme and employee assistance programme • Discounts across travel, retail, fitness and entertainment ABOUT RENDALL & RITTNER Rendall & Rittner is one of the UK's most established and highly accredited residential leasehold property management companies, managing over 90,000 homes nationwide.
