Flight Test Engineer

Lead Flight Test Engineer Shape advanced flight test capability within a specialist aerospace organisation delivering complex airborne evaluation and training systems to defence customers. This is a hands on leadership role with international exposure and significant technical ownership. What you will need British citizenship due to security requirements Proven experience as a Lead Flight Test Engineer across multiple air vehicle types Qualification as a Flight Test Engineer from a recognised Flight Test Training Organisation Experience working with flight test programmes in a regulated aviation environment Ability to collaborate with engineering, design and test pilot teams in high pressure environments Salary and rewards £80,000 to £100,000 plus very lucrative benefits Your role Lead planning, execution and reporting of flight test activities across a diverse aerospace fleet Develop test strategies, procedures and certification plans for complex flight test programmes Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure safe integration of modifications and systems Support regulatory engagement and maintain compliance with aviation authorities Oversee flight test risk management and ensure safe delivery to required standards Produce clear technical reporting to support certification and operational readiness decisions Your experience Strong background in flight test engineering within aerospace environments Experience delivering multi aircraft test programmes from concept through to execution Comfortable working within regulated aviation frameworks and safety critical operations Experience working with instrumentation and flight test data systems is beneficial Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and operational stakeholders Background in defence aviation or electronic warfare environments would be an advantage Benefits and flexibility Support is provided through a range of standard aerospace sector benefits including holiday allowance, pension contribution and professional development support alongside international deployment opportunities and exposure to advanced aviation systems Where you will be based Bournemouth based with hybrid working and international travel across Europe, the Middle East and the Far East The employer is committed to equal opportunities and values diversity in the workplace Due to the nature of work at our client’s site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens.
