Job description

Food Technician Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (Term Time Only) Salary: Competitive, pro-rata About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and organized Food Technician to join our successful Design & Technology team. This part-time role is vital to ensuring our practical classrooms are safe, clean, and exceptionally well-managed, allowing teachers to deliver high-quality lessons. Key Responsibilities • Hygiene & Maintenance: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. This includes the daily cleaning and deep cleaning of ovens, hobs, work surfaces, and equipment. • Allergen Awareness: Ensure strict management and awareness of pupils' food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements to maintain a safe environment. • Budget & Stock Control: Manage the food department budget efficiently, handling the ordering, purchasing, and preparation of ingredients while minimizing waste. • Classroom Support: Prepare and set out ingredients and equipment for Food Tech lessons. About You • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently. • Meticulous attention to hygiene, food safety, and allergen control. • Experience managing budgets, stock, or resources. • Comfortable maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient practical workspace. • Sympathetic to the supportive, high-achieving ethos of a secondary school environment.
