About the RoleWe are seeking compassionate and highly skilled Forensic Nurse Examiners to join specialist services providing care to individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver trauma-informed clinical care while undertaking forensic medical examinations and supporting the collection and preservation of forensic evidence. Key Responsibilities • Conduct forensic medical examinations in accordance with national guidelines and local protocols. • Collect, document and preserve forensic evidence accurately and securely. • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care with sensitivity and professionalism. • Assess and document injuries and relevant clinical findings. • Provide safeguarding support and make appropriate referrals where necessary. • Offer advice and treatment relating to sexual health, emergency contraception and follow-up care where appropriate. • Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical records. • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, police and other partner agencies while maintaining patient confidentiality. Requirements • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. • Previous experience in forensic nursing, sexual assault services, emergency care or a related specialty. • Training or experience in forensic evidence collection is desirable. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and trauma-informed practice. • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Enhanced DBS clearance and compliance with relevant employment checks.
