Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Forest Worker / Operative to join our team in managing and maintaining woodland areas. This role involves hands-on work in forestry environments, contributing to sustainable forest management and conservation efforts. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and passionate about working outdoors in natural settings. All positions are paid, including internships, and offer valuable experience in forestry operations.
Duties
• Assisting with the planting of trees in accordance with forestry plans
• Operating basic forestry equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters, and other hand tools (training provided)
• Maintaining woodland pathways and clearing debris to ensure safety and accessibility
• Supporting reforestation projects by planting saplings and monitoring growth progress
• Assisting with pest control and disease management within woodland areas (chemical spraying)
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during outdoor activities
Skills
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour in outdoor conditions for extended periods
• Ability to operate basic forestry tools safely (training will be provided)
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and reporting tasks
• Willingness to learn new skills related to forestry management and conservation techniques
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
