Former Nurse - Transition into SEND Tutoring (KS3)Location: Sheffield & Surrounding Areas Salary: £25-£35 per hour (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Term Time Only) Start Date: September 2026 Are you a former Nurse looking for a rewarding new career where your compassion, patience and caring skills can make a genuine difference? Tradewind Recruitment are working with specialist education providers and local authorities to recruit Former Nurses to deliver 1:1 SEND tutoring to Key Stage 3 pupils who are currently unable to access mainstream education. This role is predominantly based outside of a school setting, supporting pupils within their homes, community locations or other agreed learning environments. You will provide a consistent and nurturing presence, helping young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop positive relationships with learning. Many of the pupils have experienced disrupted education and require a trusted adult who can provide regularity, stability and encouragement. The ability to build strong relationships and consistently attend sessions is essential, as having a familiar person they can rely on can make a significant difference. Please note: Due to travelling between tutoring locations, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. The RoleAs a SEND Tutor, you will work on a 1:1 basis with KS3 pupils, delivering personalised learning sessions tailored to their individual needs and EHCP targets. You will support pupils with a range of needs, including: • Autism (ASC) • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs • ADHD • Learning difficulties • Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) • Communication and interaction needs Your focus will be on creating a calm, supportive environment where pupils feel safe, valued and able to make progress.
