Contract: Full Time, (Temporary on going / extension & going permanent)
Pay: £35+ per hour (Inclusive of Holiday pay)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Foundation SEND Lecturer to support learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Further Education setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and helping learners develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed for their future success.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to learners with SEND across Foundation and Supported Learning programmes.
• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Deliver and embed Functional Skills English and Maths within the curriculum.
• Support learners to achieve their individual learning goals and EHCP outcomes where applicable.
• Monitor, assess, and track learner progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Create a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment that promotes learner engagement and achievement.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, curriculum teams, parents/carers, and external agencies.
• Promote learner independence, personal development, employability skills, and preparation for adulthood.
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies at all times.
Essential Requirements
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths.
• Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
• Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.
