French Speaking Travelling Private Family Chef - Melbourne & Worldwide Travel Location: Melbourne, Australia, with extensive international travel Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 11:00am-5:00pm (Lunch + Dinners) Salary: AUD $1,800 per week + accommodation Start: ASAP Visa support provided A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and discreet Private Family Chef to join a warm and welcoming family of six, based in Melbourne with extensive worldwide travel. The family consists of two adults and four young children and is looking for a chef who can provide fresh, healthy and delicious meals for the whole family. The ideal candidate will be French or French-speaking, with a strong understanding of healthy Mediterranean-style cuisine and ideally some previous knowledge of Kosher cooking and kitchen practices. Further Kosher training can be provided for the right person. The family enjoys, nutritious and beautifully prepared food, including fresh salads, fish, grilled or steamed proteins, quality meats and healthy snacks to be available at all times. They are also very open to broadening their repertoire and would welcome a chef who can introduce new ideas while adapting to individual preferences. Two of the children have specific dietary requirements and require a low-fat diet, so careful attention to ingredients and preparation methods is essential. The chef will prepare lunch, dinner and healthy snacks, including dinner for the children, and will also prepare Friday evening Shabbat dinner and Saturday lunch in advance. International travel is an important part of the role. The family travels extensively throughout the year, and the chef will travel one to two days ahead to organise menus, source suitable Kosher ingredients and prepare the kitchen before the family arrives. The successful candidate must therefore be highly organised, independent and confident working internationally. Key requirements: • Experienced Private Chef, ideally with previous private household experience • French native or fluent French speaker • Excellent knowledge of fresh, healthy and Mediterranean-style cuisine • Knowledge of Kosher cooking advantageous • Confident catering for adults and children with different preferences and dietary requirements • Comfortable with extensive worldwide travel • Calm, discreet and highly confidential • A flexible and adaptable worth ethic • Independent, organised and proactive • Excellent understanding of professional boundaries and privacy The family has an established household team, including childcare and housekeeping support. In Melbourne, accommodation is provided in a comfortable three-bedroom apartment shared with two female nannies whom Leaman Consulting have successfully placed with the family. The chef will have their own private bedroom and share a bathroom with one of the nannies. Similar accommodation will always be provided in any travel destination.
