Functional Skills Tutor

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support learners across Liverpool! The Opportunity Prospero Teaching is looking for experienced and enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to students across the Liverpool area. This role involves delivering engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and Maths, helping learners build their confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve their educational goals. You will tailor sessions to meet each student's individual needs, supporting those who may be out of education, have additional learning needs, or require an alternative approach to learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive difference, using creative teaching strategies to engage students and help them reach their full potential. Position Details • Location: Liverpool • Role: Functional Skills Tutor • Hours: 515 hours per week • Start Date: September 2026 • Contract: Ongoing Experience, Training and Qualifications • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching/tutoring qualification • Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths • Previous UK teaching or tutoring experience • Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or those who are disengaged from education is desirable • A patient, adaptable, and engaging approach to teaching To be considered for this role, you must: • Have the right to work in the UK • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one • Provide two professional references relating to your experience working with children or young people Apply Today Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
